Doctorate Degree
The primary objective of the Sociology Doctoral Program is to train scientists who can attract attention in the international scientific field with their research and studies.
The Sociology Department has faculty members who conduct international research and publish works on important issues in Turkey, such as gender equality, migration, technology and society, law and justice, poverty, class, identity, and domination. The faculty members who will teach courses and supervise theses within the doctoral program aim to train experts who will contribute to solving Turkey's social problems within international civil society organizations, universities, and private and public institutions.

Sociology Department Doctoral Program Admission Requirements
- Graduation from a bachelor's degree program outside the fields of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry.
- Taking the ALES (EA or SÖZEL) exam and scoring at least 70 points.
- Have taken the ÜDS/KPDS/YDS or one of the French language exams recognized as equivalent by YÖK and scored at least 70 points.
- Attend an interview conducted by the department (Interview language: Turkish).
- Two reference letters from faculty members working at domestic or international universities.
- Prepare a 5-10 page doctoral thesis proposal. (The proposal must include a problem statement, theoretical framework, methodology, and bibliography. The proposal must be written in
- French. Only applicants applying for French language preparation may write in Turkish.) Note: The bibliography is not included in the above-mentioned page count.
