Visit to the İBB Bayrampaşa Regional Employment Office
As part of the SOC410 – Social Rights and Social Inclusion in Europe and Turkey course, conducted within the framework of the SOCRETUR Jean Monnet Module, we visited the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Bayrampaşa Regional Employment Office on 18 December 2025. The visit was carried out under the guidance of the project coordinator, Cem Özatalay. During the visit, Hüseyin Ferdi Olur, Group Operations Supervisor at the İBB Regional Employment Office, delivered a presentation on employment initiatives targeting disadvantaged social groups such as young people, women, and persons with disabilities. He also shared statistical data on the profiles of job seekers and the outcomes achieved over the years. Following the presentation, an exchange with our students took place, focusing in particular on the unemployment profile in the Bayrampaşa district and the challenges faced by disadvantaged groups in recruitment and access to employment.
