IMOMM Best Thesis Award for Seçil Doğuç Ergin from the Department of Sociology
The results of the 2026 IMOMM Thesis Awards on Islam, the Middle East and Muslim Worlds, organized by GIS MOMM (Groupement d’Intérêt Scientifique Moyen-Orient et Mondes Musulmans) and IISMM (Institut d’Étude de l’Islam et des Sociétés du Monde Musulman), have been announced.
Following the evaluation of 83 submissions, Seçil Doğuç Ergin, a faculty member of the Department of Sociology, was awarded the Best Thesis Prize in the French-language category.
The award-winning dissertation, defended in 2025 under the supervision of the sociologist Serge Paugam, is entitled: “Configurations of Adaptation and Relational Dynamics under a High-Security Regime [Contemporary Turkey].”
